AOL offering Free PS3 or Laptop with Broadband

Now I know AOL have got an utterly pants reputation from when the old dial-up days and their horrible old client software but surely they've sorted that out by now?

Even if they haven't I'm sure that a free PS3 or Laptop is enough to make people give them a close look. As far as I can see there is only a 2 year contract tie-in other than that the item is yours if you order before Dec 17th (and they still have stock).

Do AOL still use that horrible internal client and stupid proxy access or have they sorted themselves out? It's kinda tempting...

I must say the old "suspiscous bastard" part of me does think there must be some horrible catch, even if it is just that AOL's service is so bad this is the only way they can get customers to stay with them.

The contracts tend to be minimum data usage for you whilst being upper tier prices.

I don't really see how a "free" Laptop or PS3 could possibly be worth signing up with AOL, (or Orange mobile for that matter).

I mean if you're that desperate to get rid of money, just throw it off a bridge or something.

Both of the deals will have you paying far more than you would ordinarily to get a PS3 and the contract separately from each other. Hopefully you realize this. If you want a PS3, just buy one, because this is far from free.

It's AOL, so probably one loaded with their software that can do nothing else.

Yeah, i saw this offer too. I got bored reading through the conditions, but there is alot of them. Basically you have to give the PS3 back if certain things happen. It's the cheapest PS3 also.
