We have just launched a new RPG styled Mercenary character.

Price is $19

He looks very good. The textures are all very nice and detailed.

The main factor will be how will animated he is.

You will need to list all of the animations on your site.

Probably best to host a video of him somewhere. Doesn't have to be hosted from your site. I like to use http://www.putfile.com/

I've downloaded DarkGDK and use the DarkMatter 1 inside it, I felt the models are pretty similar like these in the concepts like changing the face and a few parts then make it a seperate character....

Well, just personal feel.

Im not sure i follow what you mean yoko. This model is freshly crafted and all the armour parts are actual mesh parts, not just painted textures like lots of models use. Also the model was hand painted in DeepPaint 3d, rather than using full photo textures

Puki, i can put a video of the basic animations up. I will do this tomorrow

Ah, I think "yoko" is talking about a character whereby you can swap the head textures - or clothing to make a brand new character.

I manually did this with the CubixStudio ones:

I used to swap bits and pieces from one character to another to make dozens of slightly different characters.

So, if you take the character with the white shirt and black trousers and apply the brown leather trousers to him - you now have 3 characters - and so forth.

Yeah , i get what you mean

Puki what characters would you like to see made? or building content even

Well, if you are doing RPG stuff - you need classes: Fighter, thief, wizard-type, assassin, barbarian, knight, paladin - all those usual types. Then you need villagers/commoners (old/young) - then custom villager types - blacksmith - inn keeper - barmaid - shopkeeper. Could even have good and evil versions of characters. That sort of stuff.

You already have quite a selection of building content.

What about a road system? Sections of road that you can build up a road system to join your towns. Maybe a few different texture styles of road - straight pieces, bends, crossroads, etc.

Not many games go that far - in fact, has any RPG game done it? Normally they just blend the textures into the landscape. However, personally, I would custom LOD the road sections over the terrain.

The model is ok, but:

1) the clothing textures are too muddy/fuzzy looking and the face is clearly taken from a photo (a big, ugly "no no" in my book).

2) the general style leans a little too close to the bland side of generic. You need to work on putting the character in your characters, if you see what I mean.

In short, the model doesn't really work for me, sorry, but it shows potential.

In fact the textures are not fussy at all, its probably the screenshot i have taken. the chainmail on the model which does look a liitle undistinct in the picture here, actually is very very detailed, being able to see each loop of the chain, plus the leather looks very detailed too.

Ill try and take some proper rendered pictures of the characters

Steve

I think it looks good - considering the price bracket.

I personaly dont see any problems with the level of detail in the textures it is respectable but the ratio of Poly > Texture is giving this impression of muddiness

I Would advise that you post Front Side 3/4 and a action pose as this can give the audiance a good idea of poly distribution physical build and the characters general form..

Keep up the good work :)
