Project Epoc

Based on the latest developments in neuro-technology, Emotiv has developed a new interface for human computer interaction.

Project Epoc is a headset that uses a set of sensors to tune into electric signals naturally produced by the brain to detect player thoughts, feelings and expression. It connects wirelessly with all game platforms from consoles to PCs. Project Epoc now makes it possible for games to be controlled and influenced by the player's mind.

Engaging, immersive, and nuanced, Emotiv-inspired game-play will be like nothing ever seen before.

It will be interesting to see what my mind can do with this.

*yawn*

What a load of bullcrap hype. It'll probably be the size of a fridge, too.

Lol if its anything like vista speech recog it will be like:

-Player thinks "left" game char ducks.
-Player thinks "right" player shoots a rocket near a wall and kills himself
-Player thinks "fire" game brings up the graphics menu.
-Player thinks "Jump over the hole" game opens gamespeak window and types "Puki Says: hump fluffy the mole".

:D

That website was made in 2005

Wren't we all supposed to be playing super-realistic virtual reality games by now, too?

It will be interesting to see what my mind can do with this.

It will fry your brain, you will no loger be Puki, but the brain formerly known as Puki, hah! :D

What intelligent technology capable of such stuff would be stupid enough using restricted humand approximative intelligence? ;-)

@puki

you are game developer, right?

I think since you qualify you should sign up for one EDK and test if this technology is safe enough for test of us! :D

i love the way the bloke is using his hands when its meant to be 'thought powered' enabling a multiple amputee play it should they want to (once some other bugger has double clicked on the icon cos vista would bloat it ;) )
instead weve got some prat acting like hes got a vr helmet on

-Player thinks "Jump over the hole" game opens gamespeak window and types "Puki Says: hump fluffy the mole".

Of course, everyone would just assume Puki is acting normally.

Lol

This would be cool though if it works. (As long as it just reads "brain data" and doesnt start writing!!! :O
