2GB Ram?

Hiya all,

I have bought the tower(With PSU), Motherboard, CPU and Graphics cards.

I just need 2GB ram but there is somethings I dont understand such as

Type DDR2 (Dual Channel)
Capacity 2GB (2 x 1GB)
Clock Speed 667MHz
Compliance PC5300
CAS Latency 3.0
3-4-4-8

What is really those number such as 3-4-4-8? does anyone know really good GEIL RAM with good number?

p.s. My motherboard can only go at 667MHZ for ram.

RAM Timing

RAM manufacturers typically list the recommended timing for their RAM as a series of four integers separated by dashes (e.g 2-2-2-6 or 3-3-3-8 or 4-4-4-12 and so on). While there are many other settings related to RAM, these four integers refer to the following settings, which are typically listed in this order: TCL - Trcd - Trp - Tras

TCL = CAS Latency Time

Trcd = DRAM RAS# to CAS# Delay

Trp = DRAM RAS# Precharge

Tras = Precharge delay

Read in the manuel of your motherboard what kind of timing is supported and the best for your machine. Not every motherboard supports all the timings.

About GEIL i am sorry , i use only Corsair ;)
