PSP must have
Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/PSP must have Wipeout pulse will be out soon.
Otherwise, if you're looking for a good 3D platformer, get Daxter, that's cool.
What type of game are you looking for?
You coudl always mod it, then play SNES games on it, that's pretty good fun.

There are no must haves for the PSP as it mainly gets modified "TV console" games or modified PS1 / PS2 games.
there is about no original game to it.
there is about no original game to it.
That's very true. I have both PSP and DS and spend most of my time on the DS for the simple reason that I can get a lot more original games and not just ports.
..I see...well..I got one brand new PSP for free, so I wanna use it..in that manner, it doesnt matter to me is it port or not, long as game is fun and attractive...
okay, get Crush, it's original and fun. Failing that, you've got the final fantasy games to play through, ot Tekken resurrection which looks very good. Ridge racer 2 is very nice looking and the gameplay's very good too.
I got the new psp with daxter and family guy, and sold the family guy. Daxter is definatly a good title. I also got renengade squadron. if you like battle front it is a good one to get.

That quote is about 2 years out of date, so unless this thread has been necro'ed from 2005, that's not even in the same ballpark as right.
Killzone Liberation is a brilliant tactical shooter. Probably my favourite PSP game of all.
If you like stealth/shooters then Syphon Filter:Black Mirror and Syphon Filter:Logan's Shadow are both excellent too. ( So much so that the former has been ported to PS2. ) They go back to the good old days of Syphon Filter gameplay before the first PS2 release came along.
On the stealth/shooter subject, Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops is very good too. It's a little bit of a departure from the previous MGS games, but the gameplay is still as good as ever and the graphics are top notch as always.
Have to agree with Blitz3DCoder, Daxter is a fantastic platformer.
If you like RPG's, then Tales of Eternia is a gorgeous 2D RPG from Namco. Jeanne D'Arc and Valkyrie Profile:Lenneth are a couple of original RPG's, both excellent. Well there are tons of RPG's actually, the PSP is loaded with Jap RPG's just like the PS2 was.
If you like strategy games, then Field Commander is top of the tree. It's like a superior version of Advance Wars, but has been sadly overlooked because it's not on a Nintendo console. If it had come out for DS, it would have been the second coming, but there are plenty of good reviews around for it.
I don't really do driving games or FPS on PSP, so I don't know about those, but I've covered most of the genres I do do.
My list, not in any particular order. It really depends on what kind of games you like. These are my favorites.
-GTA Liberty City stories
-GTA Vice City stories
-Killzone liberation
-Lumines
-Daxter
-Burnout
-Hot Shots Golf
-Katamari Damacy

I just got Silent Hill Origins for the PSP and love it. It is essential if you are a fan of the other games in the series.
The Daxter game also gets my recommendation as does the Ratchet and Clank PSP game for platforming fun.
If you haven't played the Grand Theft Auto games on any other console, they are well worth a play.
If you fancy a bit of retro gaming play the Sega and both Capcom compilations are pretty good.
Burnout and Outrun 2006 : Coast 2 Coast are my favourite racers on the PSP.

My list was quite short until recently, but here goes, in the order that I discovered these games...
GTA LCS
GTA VCS <-- less so than LCS. The ending is near impossible
Loco Roco
Me and My Katamari <-- best game in this list
Valkyrie Profile : Lenneth <-- simply excellent
