Beowulf 3D

or RealD rather, OH MY GOD! It's great!

I wanna see it again!

Looked terrible to me.

Did you see the film? or the trailer? The trailer looked "Meh" to me, but I went to see it anyway because the other pickings were a little slim.

The animation wasn't perfect, nor was the film, but the 3D was fantastic.

(they did spend a little too long playing hide the todger though)

My friend thought it was the movie of the year, but I disagree :)
But as a showcase of digital 3D IT ROCKS!!!!

I dont get it, I just saw the 2 trailers and they were cleary in 3D. Why would they use reall actors and then shoot the movie in 3D with their faces. Is this movie really 3D? I wonder how they made it, did they shoot the scenes with real actors and then made 3D version of it?

Anyone knowS?

The point of it is to showcase the 3d digitizing of real actors (something that Zemeckis has been dreaming about for a looooong time) and to make a movie that would be impossible to do with a real camera. There's no camera rig to do the kind of stuff the camera does in this movie. Most of it would have to be CG anyway.

Oh. So its not red-and-cyan/blue-glasses 3D?

Nope.
That's what the glasses look like:

Oh ok. Those kind of glasses 3D.

BTW: If you look close enough at the lenses in the correct light, you will see hints of blue and red. :) (Same kind are at Universal Studios.) But I know what you mean.

Nope. Don't imagine things. Those are polarized :)

Oh.

heh heh.....

I'll give it a C at best... the animation of the human characters still blows. TF2 has better facial animation/expressions... the biggest problem in this movie was that they couldn't get the eyes to look remotely real. they NEVER seemed to focus on what they were suppose to.

I didn't like the Zombie Express, it was kind of scary. :)

Saw the trailer, and...well....bleeeh. Not there yet, they still look like zombies.

Saw the movie, thought it looked pretty frickin good considering I nearly fogot i was watching CGI a few times throughout the the film.

Awesome looking movie! Not bad story either :o) Better than the usual "All CGI/ no substance"

We have an Imax theater about a mile from my home, so I thought I'd make Beowolf my first full 3D experience.

Was impressed with how well it turned out. Funny how you have to keep your head aligned correctly or you get some ghosting. Was really good to see a film in 3D that was actually good.

I hate most CG animated films, especially Pixar ones, ants, and the final fantasy one, shrek was ok. And for me at least, this one was better than all the others. Quite good 3D depth too.

Well worth $15 a ticket :)

I went to see it today! (RealD) It was B worthy. I didn't like the demon-morph though very much.

hey cool, never heard of real D. I looked for a theater online and theres one a couple of miles away, and its cheaper too.

Keep meaning to watch this, but since I bought Tracy Assassins Creed last tuesday we've been housebound- finished it right away but still wont give it up.

I wana watch Beowulf damnit!

Is Assasins creed good? I'm thinking of getting it.

It's... fun. Don't get it on PS3 yet- buggy as hell. apparently sony screwed up an update that broke the game (yeah right...)

Playing it is quite fun, and its exciting because you can see where the franchise could go, but on its own it's a giant tech demo. Strange, yet interesting story too.

Anyway, this is about Beowulf not AC :P Sorry for the hijack peeps X-D

it wars great ....
