Christmas hols!

Woohoo - just secured three weeks off work starting Christmas Eve! Should be able to devote at least two weeks solid to game dev.

Anyone else planning to do the similar?

I thin ki will get a weeks holiday. I really want to get back into animation, so I think i will work on a film

Taking time off of work for me would mean not devoting the time to game dev. I usually work over Christmas and then take some time off in January when everyone else I know is back at work. Just because it annoys them really. I've already had quite a bit of time off the past couple months though because I've been ill a couple of times, so I may just work right through.

Yep, have 3 weeks hols over xmas too! Hurrah for slaving through summer.

Definitely planning on releasing some kind of Christmassy Blitz game this year. I started one last year but stopped on xmas day. I'll aim for xmas eve :)

All I get is a measly 2 weeks break between terms at college here. ;/
Probably going to spend both weeks playing FFXIs latest expansion (just one more week...), shows how much a life I have 'eh?


Wish I had your enthusiasm, I'm trying to get into traditional animation, but I'm starting to notice just how much $&@*ing work is involved doing it by hand compared to the ever-growing 3d animation market.

Still, the amount I can get done when I can devote whole days is massive compared to the 3 hours I manage most evenings during working weeks.

Yeah I find myself most productive at 2am which doesn't lend itself to a 9-5 job very well.

Totally agree. Worked till 2am last night - got some really good stuff done and just didn't feel like turning in. So had a half hour burst on Stronghold Legends (which is pretty naff, but also kind of fun).

But this morning, it's a struggle just to keep my eyes open (and unfortunately, the office's just gone openplan).

When I think about it - my interest in game dev means I'm not getting enough sleep on a regular basis - kind of using the weekend to catch up. Probably not good for me...

On the other hand, when I do take time off, I invariably get into a rythym of going to bed at 4am, waking at 12noon, having lunch then getting back into game dev.

Well my current game is nearly done and it's take 10 solid months, so I'm gonna take some time off and PLAY some games :-)

I'll probably be sticking to my usual cocktail of porn, beer and not coding anything.

Work up until 20th, back to work 27th and off skiing on the 5th. Yipee!

Think I may start a new game in the hols. I've finally decided I can't be bothered to finish the last one (AGAIN!!!)
