I had a go once, but I got fed up waiting for it to compile my small test map after about 25 minutes on a dual core machine, and quit. I say quit, I alt-tabbed to the desktop and shut it down manually because it wouldn't quit.
All in all, it seemed well up to the usual TGC standard.
25 mins for compile your small map test on dual core machine? That is Shocking.
I wont be buying it.....thanks for being honest. FPS Creator DX 10 look really cool but like you say usual TGC standard which mean they more interesting your moneys than working hard to get the program right!
I think its good for what it is? But like anything you need to put effort in. With the content supplied you can only make a basic shooter. The Forums seem to have a lot of tips to help out.
It can take a while to compile especially with large maps, but with a bit of work you can get reasonable results.
They sell copys on ebay for £17.50, also a DX10 version is out soon.
and much more expensive. Conitec engine is totally overpriced by 2007 standards.
What they offer in the commercial or better do cut down to force a pro is a joke. Any other system will offer that and more at that point for less money. use NeoEngine, Beyond3D, Quest3D, Torque Game Engine Advanced or whatever instead of conitecs pro license. Anything will be cheaper and better and don't switch to a new engine version all 12-18 months.
Check out the features comparision. For LoD terrain you need the pro license (1000$+-) ... should show any blitz3d user that it can't be taken seriously
PS: FPSC is mainly that slow because it needs to compile several tousand lines of DBP code as the current FPSC is DBP, FPSCX10 won't be DBP anymore.

There is a good reason. It can be caused by too many enitities, and it is also caused setting up LOD, loading materials, lighting etc etc. Thats why you can do a fast build.
FSPC X10 should be better, although there is a bit of a delay before the first progress bar is displayed.
I bought it. It's a toy, nothing more. It's pretty fun as a toy though. I used it to practice coding AI. It's got a neat little coding system that is pretty simple to learn.
