Well I'm kidding really (maybe). It's just that I wouldn't mind a slice of this pie: http://www.developmag.com/news/28790/Google-launches-10m-dev-challenge-for-best-Android-app
Bmax for Google Android phones?
Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Bmax for Google Android phones? Well it might be nice for the future, I suppose, but at the moment, I'm not really sure BlitzMax has a future which is much different from the present. When BlitzMax first came out there was a clear roadmap, modules of various kinds which were in development. During the next year, talk of additional compilers for both Arm and CLI were mentioned as possibilities ( by BRL, I mean, not just speculation ) and yet here we are and I'm not sure if taking BlitzMax forward is even on BRL's roadmap any more. It all seems to have faded into background noise with the occasional whimper when someone bumps an old thread.
I realise that it's a small privately funded company and - to be perfectly honest, it's none of my business what their plans are - but still, I don't see any plans or vision for BlitzMax any more. It's a great language, no question, but it could definitely have evolved into something much better still. I'm just not sure evolution is on the cards any more.

Shame if true and also a problem for me as I'll have to recode my whole framework in C#.
Yeah, it would be a shame. I've already accepted that I'm going to have to port my entire game engine to C# at some point. No one will be happier than me if it turns out that I've accepted something which I don't end up having to do though.
Sadly I agree with Gabriel - but I prefer C++. Each to his/her own.
Im a C/C++ hack too :) Although I also have DBPro
The Java code used for Lunar Lander is so easy and clean you really wouldn't need another layer of abstraction.
Well, we could all file a petition that Mark creates a BlitzMax compiler that emits Java bytecode... Now wouldn't that be mega-cool? :-)

Well no because if you wanted to create Java bytecode, you'd be much better of using Java (the language) in the first place. While BlitzMAX is cool, and for sure more compact than Java, Java is by far the more mature language. lol....ahhh petitions
