Dragon NaturallySpeaking

Hi everyone, a little while ago I started a thread about speech recognition software. In the end, I ended up getting Dragon Naturally Speaking standard version, which I am using now. The headset is rather crappy, with only one head phone, which doesn't properly fit my ear. However the microphone does seem to work rather well with the software.

It remains to be seen whether this is actually a practical tool for someone can type a rather quickly anyway, or just some gimmick that I'll get bored off in a week.

Certainly it seems way better than when I investigated, speech recognition software about five or more years ago.

Hey Grey, I would be interested to see what you make of it once you've had it a while.

Did you ever find out exactly what the difference was between standard version and the more expensive one?

It's just extra stuff I'm not sure I need yet. Assume I can upgrade painlessly if need be.

First thing is to buy a decent headset!

I have to say, whilst I never found Speech Recognition any good, I do have a terrible mumble.

So, saying that, despite the errors, Dragon was the most accurate and caused me almost no headache, so it *MUST* be good!
