Anyone started modding the Crysis Demo?

The editor is in there, it's pretty sweet to mess with. There's quite a bit of content in there too. Helicopters and tons of weapons as well. The editor is a really nice piece of work.

... goes off to play with helicopter and new arsenal

I'm trying to play with SandBox 2 ;) Great soft !

Are they gonna suport the modding for this engine? Is there more information on this anywhere? Will it be possible to make other kind of games then FPS with this engine? Possibilities are endless

Not myself, but I played a modded demo with some big alien thing, the sniper rifle and a bunch of tanks.

Go into the Program Files folder and the sandbox editor has an installer in the appropriate folder (sandbox something). It installs the editor to the bin folder. In order to get your levels working you have to save (I backed up the original island.cry file first) then click File->Export to Engine to get your stuff into the game. I read somewhere that you had to play on normal to get it to work so I did that, but I didn't try the other difficulty levels. I think they'd probably work fine.

One thing to keep in mind though is that saved games from before won't work, they crash the game. The editor is fully operational, though so far I only gave myself a helicoper and some guns. The helicoper was fun though. Especially for blowing up those pesky little boats ... oh man ;) I fired a missle into the water and it flipped the boat upside down. Then I kept firing until it blew up completely. Flipping it over was the highlight though ... the physics are fantastic. The dead guys even float like dead guys in the water.
