Which Laptop for my kids?

Okay guys,

re: Laptop around £350-£450 inc vat.

I need some help please. We don't want to spend a lot of money (and we know you only get what you pay for but..) we have been looking at refurbished laptops from PCworld and new ones from MESH. I need something for graphics design using photoshop and Flash along with illustrator, but remember it's for my kids not for commercial use.

Any advice or thoughts on what to avoid or what to consider?

Hmmm, the phrase "refurbished laptops from PCworld" fills me with dred, tbh; although, I have no real evidence for feeling the fear. :)
