Seems pretty fast to boot up (under 10 seconds) shut down in 5 seconds.

I totally agree, it is aimed at children though and a vga port is provided to go to a bigger screen should you have one.

The keyboard is small too :)

The hardware spec is fantastic for the money, my daughter is hankering after her own computer (she can wait a little while though, she's only six). This would be ideal for her to 'write' on, with a external monitor (and they're getting cheaper all the time) this looks exceptional value for money.

While useless for games and graphics work, it should be perfect for web/word use etc, and quite mobile @3hours battery. The text size would be similar to what you use now on a 15", just less of it. Try changing your 15" screen res to 800x600 then walk away from your pc until the screen looks about half the size -at least its readable. The web should be quite useabe too because 800px is the design squash-minimum for most websites :)

A Windows XP version will come later and can run ome lower end casual games, however the screen is very small to be honest, I'd go for a GP2X if I want gaming.

I can imagine that XP would kill the solid state 'disk' much faster with too much swapping (could be wrong). Plus it would add another 40-60 quid on the price.
