FPS games on Xbox 360

I can't understand why MS doesn't release a keyboard and mouse for playing FPS games on Xbox. I know I would have got an Xbox a long time ago if they did...

Because most people won't buy one. In the same way that most PC owners don't have a joypad. And if most users don't have one, most developers won't bother to develop for them. And if most developers don't develop for them, most people won't buy one. It's a classic catch 22. I'm sure people with a PC and a joypad are just as irritated that so few PC games support a joypad properly. Playing a 2d platform game with keyboard is pretty darn unnatural too.

I personally do prefer a mouse and keyboard, but I own a few X360 games which are either FPS or close to ( Rainbow Six Vegas, Gears of War, Bioshock, Perfect Dark Zero, etc ) and i can't honestly say that the controls bother me in any of them. Because they know you're not using a mouse and keyboard, they can soften the controls a little to make aiming more natural with the analog sticks ( and the analog sticks on the 360 controller are surprisingly good! ) so it's really not too bad.

They did release a keyboard, except it hooks up to your 360 controller, and overall, it stank.

Otherwise, just hook-up a standard USB keyboard, it'll work, is how I type in FFXI on my bro's 360 when I go home on the weekends.

i got used to starwars battlefront 1 & 2 on xbox i never used wsad i was cursor and mouse when i first started unreal tournament

for me the joy pad sits in my hands whereas the keyboard ballances precariously on my lap on a makeshift rest.

its the slightly different shape of the 360 pad i got for my pc that put me off as i was accustomed to the s version of the pad

as for the keyboard
it is more of a chatboard for msning on live than anything else
it is titchy as its got to fit in that small gap between the palm bits
