Alien Breed 3 for PC?

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Alien Breed 3 for PC?

Hey all,

I cant understand why TEAM 17 wont make those Popular game for pc such as

ALIEN BREED
Body Blow
Project X
Superfrog
Full Contact
Arcade Pool
Overdrive
apadia (shoot em up)

I am sure the graphics of today would be outstanding if they did made for pc instead making all the bloody WORM games(the reason why they make worm cos they know people will buy it as one of my friends say worms game is lazy coding and GOOD moneys meaning they make big buck for every worm they sell)

Email them. You will probably find that either they don't have the money to make them, or that they don't hold a licence to make them.

I've only ever heard of one of those, but never played it. Why do folk think EVERYONE owned an Amiga? :/

Could the reason be that, apart from Arcade Pool (which might work as a Live Arcade release) and Apidya (which was nice but licensed), those games really aren't particularly good? Team17 stuff often had nice production values but you wouldn't opt for Speris Legacy over Zelda if you had the choice, or Body Blows over KOF, or Project X over Gradius, or Superfrog over Super Mario World... they were pretty pale imitations gameplay wise.

I think these games were mostly fun at the time, and would be interesting seen with modern technology. But then again, they've surely moved onto bigger better things.

Also the sort of people that loved them may not pay money for them as they are used to getting free stuff from the Internet, and the market is limited to 30-somthing males.

I think Team 17 were always way too over-rated. They got lucky with a few games doing well but it was never a case of them knowing how to make a good game. Even Alien Breed was flawed up to its britches. The switch to the money-go-round shovelware called Worms more or less proves they simply know when they're onto a good thing and would probably sell out their own mothers for a fast buck. Worms 3007 anybody?

Because it was the king? The idea that someone never owned an Amiga is truly depressing.

Arcade Pool (and Apidya) sucked. Alien Breed was good tho'. Other than that I agree with you.

Even on the Amiga no Team 17 game (that wasn't Alien Breed) really stood out.

Body Blows / Full Contact - Not as good as Fighting Spirit or any of the Mortal Kombat games. Hell even IK+ was a better game!
Project X: Poor mans R-Type.
Superfrog: Got Giana Sisters? Yo! Joe! (which even had co-op multiplayer).
Overdrive: Skidmarks 2 - No contest.

I think Team 17 were always way too over-rated.
Not by Amiga Power. :D

Because people who are attracted to technical excellence think other people are as well.

yep. (;-) Still, I agree Team17 did some good work but maybe it wouldn't translate to wel, but then it depends on who is implememnting the port?

I loved the Alien breed series specially the 3d ones :)

I still have my Amiga 1200 in the shed.

I loved the Alien Breed series.
I played and completed Shadowgrounds, a bit of a updated alien Breed clone.
Can be found on Steam for just over £5.00. Well worth a look.

I still have my 1200 in the loft, boot it up from time to time - after I've dug it out from underneath boxes n stuff.
