Mouse..
Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Mouse..
Just sitting here at my computer when i caught something out the corner of my eye...
Small brown mouse running across my floor, and nipped down a wee hole..
Anyone else got mice that frequent their homes. ?
Was it wireless? ; )
Used to have mice at my uni digs. It didn't bother me until one appeared in my room. Unfortunately, my sense of humour failed when my landlord's response was 'did it nibble your toes?'
A long time ago my cat used to drag small animals in constantly. The odd mouse would escape and live under the floorboards. The cat had an endearing habit of lining dead animals up beside my head on the pillow while I selpt. Frogs, mice, voles, birds and even a bat once.
It was supposed to be a trade for feeding him in the morning... lovely.
On a slightly related topic I have developed one of those eye 'floaters' (little bit of tissue which bobs around in your eye juice). This often gives me the impression of something small moving just at my peripheral vision... most annoying.
Yeah.. got a few mice under the floorboards (roof of the basement).. sometimes you can hear them running across the room..
I just got one in a cage, running in his wheel right now. It's a hamster though...
My house is very strange at the moment, I've not seen a single ant, rodent, spider, fly, - although did see an earwig once. I've been here for a couple of years and the only living things in it are my cat and me...
Heh. I stayed up a week to catch a mouse once, when i was younger.
Nabbed it by trapping it in a PS1 box after the 5th day of no sleep. Let it free in the garden!
During that week I saw the little blighter (which had moved into my bedroom...) do some wierd stuff- climb the curtain, sit on the rail... tactically hide itself in my folders and drop out JUST as I go to open it... missed it every time.
I almost gave up and went to bop it one with a stick but it was too cute! X-D
We get all kinds of insects and critters around here. Mice, rats, cockroaches, crickets, grasshoppers, praying mantis, lizards, and spiders. Just earlier today, I found a few lizard eggs tucked in a corner. I put them on a bed of sawdust in a jar to let 'em hatch :)
I saw a mouse at a friend's house when I was kid.
We chased it until it went into a heating vent. The slats over the vent were so close together that a pencil wouldn't fit between them. The mouse squeezed through as if it didn't have any bones.
Buy a cat. :)
mice piss everywhere and run over all your food - guaranteed.
You need to kill it (them, as there's never just 1) and plug its entry points with meshing for the sake of your health.
There was just a single one at our house. cute little woodmouse. We set him free.
It depends on how the mouse got there- if you have bad living conditions then if you have one you're going to have more than one. If its just a single mouse looking for warmth you might be lucky.
Heres one option :P
Warning twisted link!!!Or you could do the right thing and take it far away and turn it loose.
we get raccoons and possums, had one in the roof for a while. They also have the odd coyote rumaging around on occasion thanks to the 40 mile american river parkway that backs onto my back yard.
Possums are funny since when they play dead they even have their tongue hanging out the side of their mouths.
Raccoons can be quite bold and dangerous and have actually attacked small kids in the neighborhood.

lol. So that's where the term 'play possum' comes from. I seriously didn't know possum's did that, until now. Not that I'd know a possum if I bumped into one down a dark alley, anyway. :P
I woke up to three baby birds chirping for food in my room once. My cats were on edge all day.
I've never seen a mousei n my house, but the (indoor only) cats do a decent job of getting rid of any bugs that creep in.
In my old apartment we had a mouse colony or something in there. They would run around every night freakin my girlfriend out - i used to think that was hilarious. Never bothered me until one day i opened the kitchen cabinet and one of then jump onto me....
our dog sorts all the mice out with one frantic chase and a quick nip..... cat are overrated
the missus screams "get it get it, kill it"...then spends all night telling the dog off.........women ?
