What is the angriest you have ever gotten at a game/system?

Please give a rating(see below) and the reason for such anger.

[4] - Destroyed the controller
[5] - Rendered a controller useless

[7] - Damaged the television/monitor
[8] - Damaged a near by object
[9] - Destroyed a near by object
[10] - Damaged a system beyond repair

Mine is a 3, regrettably. I had been playing crazy taxi for days, and had been trying the same thing over and over again without success, until finally, I opened the game system, took out the disc, and scratched part of the disc off (the part that the system reads.) Luckily it was a back up, and I was only 8 or 9 at the time.

You have 4 and 5 the wrong way around, by my judgement. Games are generally more expensive than controllers and controllers tend to be in hands at times of stress so they're less expensive to replace and take less forethought to damage.

I've never gone beyond 1. But I've probably used some words that would make a Jersey docker blush.

Whoa, didn't notice that, thanks, gabriel!

10. I threw my ol' nintendo out the second floor window and let it smash to the ground. I got a little pleasure out of it. I think the game was Zelda (one of the first ones)

But my last regretable MISTAKE, was stepping on my graphics card which I paid $300.00 for at the time. I originally bought it for a specific game. Ooops :(

Oh my gosh!!!!!

I am sad now........ :(

Wasnt a big deal after awhile. I was just more shocked I couldnt find the CD from anyone.

Its called Voodoo 3 (I think) And the original manufactures, sold the Vodoos or something. I cant find anyonme who has this CD. I'll just buy the next great thing (should that happen :) )

I think you need a 1A and 1B;

1A - a ten minute uninterrupted stream of oral vileness that would make a sailor blush and render a nun unconscious.

1b - same as above but followed up with recurring random outbursts for the next half hour (usually when reloading/replaying) that may lead others to suspect tourettes.

LMAO, Thank the Lord, there is no 1C. :)

back on psone, playing pro evolution soccer, i broke a few controllers. Threw them at the wall/telly in anger and sometimes in celebration of scoring a great goal, scared the hell out of my mates :-)

I've grown up now and don't feel the urge to vent my anger on a poor little joypad.

I've banged my keyboard and slammed a controller down on the couch. I have never actually slammed a controller on the ground or anything hard enough to damage it.

So, I am a 2.

I once (i was about 10) threw my spectrum after a bad episode of "chuckie egg" fury. The Palmerest case cracked in two and the keyboard flew off. A bit of gaffa-tape later it was back to semi- normal except the colorpots were now dodgy and i occasionally got CMY instead of RGB.. which a stiff downward slap would usually fix, (and was later fixed with some chewing gum). My Dad went bananas and banned me from using both the olivetti and BBCMicro for like a month.

I learned my lesson and never abused my computer again. Although lately, using vista.... nevermind

Hmm i managed to make other people throwing their joysticks against the walls during emotional Archon I+II sessions. Still unbeaten... :O)

Personally i'm fine with cursing but i have to leave the computer and move around because my testosterone doesn't want to sit around then...

I once took a hammer to my computer, the lot, monitor, keyboard, tower, nothing was safe.

Do I need to tell you why I did it ? ..

..please.. tell us.. :)

Medication wore of I would suspect.

I've lobbed the odd spectrum across the room, many joysticks and mice. Oh... Punched keyboards, crt monitors (ouch)... I'm sure the list goes on... Haven't broken anything of significance though.

I've thought to myself "that's annoying" at times, but I've never worked myself up into a rage over a game. If a game irritates me I just stop playing.

One game used to get me mad enough to smash my joystick down on the desk. I didn't think it was hard enough to damage it, but eventually I did. I don't usually get that excited by games anymore, but just recently playing Bomberman on the X360, me, my mate and my brother have found it necessary to hit each other quite a few times, and then there's the swearing.

Its hard to explain, took part in a cyber war, our team nearly won, I was the segment holder for our team, and while grabbing the last segment we needed the guy I was taking it from managed to grab ours faster, we lost by 3 seconds.

Out came the hammer.... Bye Bye Computer...

reminds me of this little fella...

rofl.. nice video.. not seen him before. sounds like some one I used to play world of warcraft with.

If a game irritates me I either sell it or give it away.

I think the the worst I've done is throw a joystick away from me in disgust, hard enough to damage it. The only other thing I can think of is years ago when as a kid I was just about to complete Barbarian (Palace or "boobies" version). When the last guy (who was 1 hit away from death) managed to get in a Flying Neck Chop; decaptiating me and causing me to shout "B********!" loud enough for people outside the house to hear.

The only time that springs to mind is when I involunterily through a controller sideways and it hit the wall. Didn't break, though. The cause: being pipped at the post on the last race on the hardest level of Mario Kart on the SNES. The CPU controlled opponents in that game used to cheat so blatantly, it was laughable... except not quite so funny on this ocassion. :P

Apart from that, pretty much all manic gaming sessions have a liberal sprinking of outrageous expletives. If you're not engaged in a game enough to care enough to even swear when something 'bad' happens, there's something wrong. It's called passion. :)

A, barely. I don't tend to get angry quickly, let alone by a computergame.

The only time I hit hardware is for 'percussive maintenance' ;-)

My ancient amiga monitor was slowly giving out, jumping to black every once in a while. Slapping it on the side would restore the image (a mere tap at first, but needed to be fairly hard near the end) Eventually fixed it (bad solder point on the circuitboard somewhere)

1 for video games
irl smacking a metal rack thing into both sides of a coridor half a dozzen times instead of stupid supervisor who only got the job cos no one else applied
followed by alot of option 1 for most of the rest of the working day ;-)

so perhaps i should get that usb drum i saw on firebox and (eventually) code an anger management game using it :-p

hang on it sounds like whack-a-mole now

[8] - Damaged a near by object

Does "object" refer to other people also? Cause there was a time back during the days of Marvel vs Street Fighter, that a couple of my buddys and some other random folks got into it physically...after some serious trashing talking and us putting beat down on them (on the game and real life)..

Never. Not even a 1. If a game annoys me, I give it to someone I don't like very much, well before it gets a chance to lead to random outbursts of cruelty.

At best a 1, I'm very patient you know... :)

10 definatly, the last time I played a game on a gamecube I didnt like, I smashed the gamecube threw a nearby window, controller and all.

o_O

haha this is great. 1, possibly 2 on very rare past occasions. I've seen people destroy games before, or just sell their consoles (more sensible that destruction)

I'm a 0. Why?
1) I don't cuss.
2) Never really got that far.

But, I remember getting mad at a PS2 game (Kingdom Hearts) and tried to break the controller in half. Nothing insane, just a wimpy pull.

Hehe, ive broken a few controllers, mice and keyboards over the years, even kicked in my box and crashed the hd.. but the worst ive done is taking a cup and smashing it into my keyboard.,had to do stitches ;)

Luckily ive calmed down quite a bit since then.. hehe

7 - I punched my C128 monitor and knocked the screws out the back. Did not know what I did until I picked up my monitor, and the monitor broke in half. Oops :P

2 - Broke many amiga mice and keyboards - $100-150 to replace sucks. I cannot remember what computer (amiga or C64) keyboard had springs under each key. I found out the hard way to see keys jump all over the place after hitting it.

4 or 5 which always ends up 4 when playing socom games.

3 - cracked one of my socom games after breaking a controller.

10 - I spiked one of the original gameboy on the ground.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok, you guys must think I'm nuts..I'm not. I compete with my own abilities to reach a goal. I only destroy what I can replace, and it teaches me how to focus better. I'm very competitive with myself.

Only playing socom does it drive me nuts...I quit many times. I swear that game is like a drug. That game is hit or miss...just like bowling.

Only done #1 when playing Mario Party with friends.

A friend of mine threw the console out of the window, and then run over it with the car :D :D

I don't think trash talking counts, as it's not motivated by anger. I hope.

Eviltoes you should have add this to the ratings.

Machine, Window, Window (crash), Machine gone.

add 11] to the list, you got so mad that you ran outside with your huge ps3 and beat a hoody senseless :-)

"add 11] to the list, you got so mad that you ran outside with your huge ps3 and beat a hoody senseless :-) "

I wouldn't use a PS3 ( or any other machine for that ) you mite kill 'em, use a 4" by 4" fence post or lead pipe just to be on the safe side.

my brother was playing the FA cup final on soccer manager.... he lost...
so he threw a pen so hard at the monitor that it chipped away part of the glass.
