Name of 80s arcade SHMUP?

Can anyone remember the name of a game in the arcades in the 80s... it was a basic arcade shoot-em, side-scrolling from right to left on the first level and you are a guy on a jet-pack?

In my defence, the description was good enough that someone got it almost immediately, although the level scrolls in the opposite direction to what I remember, unless it's a MAME screw up?
