Does anyone know if the 'Blitz Programming for the Absolute Noob' book still available?
I see Amazon have it at a 4-6 week wait, but all of the SloanKelly.net links are knackered.
...would I be wasting my time with amazon?

I think he means that the purchase links on that site are dead
The publications page has a liink to a paypal page which seems OK. unless I am missing something.
I've tried the link(s) again and PayPal simply goes to a page that says...
"We were unable to decrypt the certificate id."
And that's it. It happens with FireFox and IExplorer.
