Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Jasc Paint shop Pro 7?

Hiya all,

I want to know how do I do PIXEL PEN that I can draw my own Spaceship.

I am new to Jasc Paint shop Pro 7 as I bought it from ebay.

does anyone know how to do it?

cheers

Click on the brush tool, set the size to 1.

If you've not got your tool window open you should do.

You can use Paint Brush with the size of 1 or Pen Tool in freehand mode. Not sure about the last one 'cause it's been quite a while since I've last used PSP 7.

Barney

thank you :)

cheers

Graphics Gale is a highly recommended tool for pixel graphics.

Bit off-topic but I wish PSP 7 supported alpha in PNG - It's a shame as it's a great little package. The other PSP's are just too bloated.

I use PSP9, but psp10 gotalittle OTT. PSP9 was on the edge already. i usedPSP7 for years and even had it on an old p60- and it worked well!

Me too!!

I use gimp to upgrade my PSP7 pngs to 32bit its very good at it. Although i have started using it more than psp7 more and more as it has more features, the interface is taking some time to get used to though :/

Umm...

Save As.../png/Options/Run Optimizer/Transparency/[Alpha Channel Transparency]+[Existing Image Or Layer Transparency]

What's up with that?

When you load a PNG into PSP 7 the alpha channel is lost.

No it's not... Why doesn't anyone read the cocking manual anymore?
Mask > Load alpha from image.

Oo er, you learn something new everyday. Woohoo, go PSP 7 :)

Stupid thing having to click extra menus each time you load in a PNG.

Pah! where's the fun in that. If I had read the manual I'd never of bought photoshop :p

Aha, gonna try this later (not yet convinced :/ )

Well it's Mask/New/From_Image ('Load From Alpha Channel' won't find a channel in the .png you saved with PSP7) but it doesn't really work as the pixels are already transparent without the mask and the effect of the new one is cumulative.

The secret is to work on the image in .psp form and only save to .png as your final; you shouldn't be loading .png's with transparency to edit in PSP7. (At least not to my knowledge -- I'm actually crossing my fingers that I'm wrong on this one.)
