Crysis Final System Requirements

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Crysis Final System Requirements

YouGamers visited Crytek to check out their heavily anticipated DX10-showcase title Crysis, courtesy of Electronic Arts. A full preview article on the game is coming soon, but the most important piece of news from the visit is the official word on the final system requirements for Crysis.

Crytek states that the minimum system is as follows, depending on the operating system--

A GeForce 6800 is a high system requirement?

Well, I don't have one.

hm do you think my computer would make a go on it?
more informations in my sig

That's why we have a Game-O-Meter, click the link in the article and it will tell you:

You can compare your system to the requirements using our handy Game-o-Meter tool. Note that the Game-o-Meter currently assumes that you are using Windows XP for the minimum requirements.

I'm running 7600GT 256MB Gfx card, 2gb RAM, 4200+ Dual core AMD, 22" widescreen monitor. I should be fine.

I would just remind everyone that "system requirements", usually means, "will be able to play the game, probably on minimum settings, at a low resolution".

You want to look a bit further down for the "recommended" settings:

Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 or AMD Athlon X2 4400+
2048MB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS 640MB
12GB disk space

BTW, 12 GIGS of disk space!!!

Darkheart

yes, disk space. Games are pretty much ignoring the idea of conserving disk space these days. WoW takes over 8 gigs total now.

It's safe to assume though that most systems with the rest of those specs will have at least a 200gig drive though, so 12gigs is nothing.

Well my suped-up PC i bought two years ago has just made the minimum requirements :p...i cant wait to spend more money and upgrade again...

I expect a 6600GT will play it ok at 800x600 if a 6800 is ok. Around here you can get a 6800 for around the price of Crisis itself. Can get a 7600 GTS for $82.

ok. i dont know how one game can take over to 512 MB graphic memory, but ok...

640MB of video memory = holy crap!

I must have been out of the loop for a long time

I ran the Game-O-Meter for the heck of it. How depressing.

Games are hardware industrys secret plot to get new machines sold every year. Or is that even a secret... crazy. Luckily I can get away with "lagging" system at home because my work PC is always high-end for the obvious reasons.

I bet it doesn't use 640Mb of memory they are just trying to push the huge memory cards that are out at the moment for big price premiums and actually peform slight worse than their smaller bretheren. I'll be amazed if it actually uses 512Mb of vidmem which IMHO is overkill.

Fact is most "gaming" cards out in the real world are likely to have 256Mb of vidmem at the moment so it makes sense to optimise for that.

Hey stanger... fix that game-o-meter to know about SLI and it's great. As it is, it's a tiny bit crippled. :)

Older systems seem quite capable at playing most modern games at 1024x768 and often higher at a framerate around 30FPS which is quite acceptable for many.

What the new cards do is allow you to play the same game at 1600x1200 + with maxed out AA and in some cases a few nice DX10 features.

From the looks of things, my new computer is going to run this at "High," only because I don't have Vista. Otherwise, it far exceeds the requirements for that. So many games I need to get this year and next. This is going to get expensive...

Allrighty, I'll complain to the appropriate department about this.
