Ah yes Cauldron was a classic. I was chuffed back in the day when I picked it up for £1.99.

Another classic remade.. Head Over Heels. There is also a PPC and Linux version for this one.

I remember this on the speccy, and cauldron 2

Is this a BlitzMax game?

Nope- it was made in one of those point+click game-makers, but I tried to convince the guy Blitz was the way forward.

ah, games coming out £1.99, I used to go down to toys 'r' us and buy amstrad games for £1.97, those were the days.

The original was well hard (or maybe I'm thinking of Cauldron 2) but I was determined to keep on trying even though it punished me (often).

It's every bit as frustrating as it was on the Speccy, same horrible controls, bad collision detection and stupidly difficult (although thankfully they have included some magic regen points totally absent in the speccy version).

Playing it again just reminded me how much I ended up loathing the original. I have to commend the programmer for such a diligent re-creation although I can't help wishing he'd spent some time recreating a better game to remake, still programmer's perogative I suppose.
