GP2X.... will BBasic 2.1 apps run on it ??? (not the compiler, just the exes)
It's a while since I developed on my miggy, but there's a possibility that BBasic 2.1 executables will run on the GP2X.
Has anyone tried ? possiblt t-minus 4 months (ish) till my Killer Miggy app sees the light of day on GP2X. Blitz rocks.
no
I take it that you're talking via an Amiga Emulator - I don't see any reason why it shouldn't.
you're still writing on the amiga?
yep, I meant via an amiga emulator. If the Amiga emulators are good enough to detect the joystich peripheral on the GP2X vid, then it will work with my BBasic2.1 exe.
Must confess, my back up system for it has been lacking somewhat though.
andy, you beat me to the punch, I'm not. but hey... why not? (waiting for the plethora of waste ure time?)......
@boom boom, your 'no' answer, you did realise I meant BBasic 2.1 on the Amiga before posting your explanatory 'no' ?
It should work fine, Amiga emulation is still a bit slow. If you want a performance increase you may have to limit what you ask for from your GP2X 'Amiga'.
that is interesting, the other night I was looking at running speccy games on my palm, however I need palm Os5, (I've only got OS 4.0).
Running my Miggy app on the GP2X does smack off a bit of a challenge, first to get a GP2X.......
For GP2X dev, you may want to check GLBasic.
It output many platforms, which is pretty good.
Game-Editor allso compiles for GP2X.
@yoko and Tri|Ga|De : thanks for the extra input, much appreciated.
Speaking of this, I got the amiga 1200 out the other day and fired it up. Runs fine, boots up so much faster than my XP machine! It's got Blitz 2.1 on it from an old coverdisk. I never did write any games in that though, I was an AMOS coder instead. [/nosalgia mode]
might try firing up my miggy this weekend, hopefully not literally, although with no usb port not sure how I'd transfer any media from it to my PC. Did have a null modem cable with some software that was meant to allo wtransfers but gave up on that. yep nostalgia mode.....
Blitzplotter: Run any terminal program on the Amiga and HyperTerm on the PC. I think HyperTerm supports ZModem transfers. Set the data rate at 57600 though, most Amiga's cannot cope with 115200 and will cause transfer errors.
Cool, will try at the weekend, if my miggy starts.....
