I am re-playing Half-Life 2.
I was on the level with the dune buggy thing - where you are driving along the coast. I parked the buggy were the road was collapsed so that I could take a look around.
I noticed a seagull on the ground - sort of walking about in a small area. I've never noticed a seagull on the ground in HL2 before, so I walk up to it - it didn't fly away. I assumed this was some sort of bug. I got back in the buggy to drive off. I (purposely) aimed the buggy at the seagull and sort of attempted to run it over. Anyway, after driving forwards and backwards over the seagull - trying to line my wheels up with it, I realised the seagull could not be killed by running it over.
This was becoming intriguing as I am sure this must be a bug.
Anyway, as a sort of test, I hit it with my crowbar - it let out a seagull scream and blood spurted out of it and it fell down dead.
I've not felt so bad since I played Oblivion whereby the wolves let out a dog-like scream of pain when you kill them.
I feel very guilty and ashamed.

I wish I hadn't killed it now - I could have tried the gravity gun on it to see if I could suck it in and then fire it out to sea.
