Is Broken Sword - The Angel of Death worth 10€?

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Is Broken Sword - The Angel of Death worth 10€?

I today saw it as a budget title and i was wondering if it might be fun or mainly a waste of time. Anyone?

Yeah, it's a decent game. I didn't enjoy it as much as 1,2 and 3 as I don't think the plot or the characterisation are up to the usual standard, but both plot and characters are still better than most adventures. The puzzles are a little more obtuse than usual, but there are no crate puzzles this time, which will probably please anyone who played three.

It's very good in parts ( particularly the first 1/4 ) and kind patchy in parts ( the middle ) but it's got to be worth 10 Euros.

It's the first Broken Sword game I never finished, but that's because I kept experiencing a crash bug when loading or saving games and got fed up of having to switch the PC off when it hard locked. AFAIK this was not a widespread problem ( I don't think I ever saw anyone else report it ) so I wouldn't let that put you off. I was definitely enjoying it enough to finish it were it not for the problems.

Okay thanks, i mainly was afraid of the steering and don't laugh, i've enjoyed the crate puzzles in the cave in BS3. :O)

I thought it was pretty good, but prefered 3. Definately worth 10 e's or 20 even.

I enjoyed the crate puzzles too, but apparently a lot of people didn't. The steering wasn't too bad, as I recall, about on a par with BS3.

I enjoyed it, though, when your in that rundown building early on in the game, I was stumped for ages! :D

Okay, thanks!

Some of the puzzles were a real pain; the graphics weren't as good as they should have been; and it wasn't terribly stable...

By the way i don't know if such an offer also exists outside germany but here they sell a bundle (gold edition) with Ankh 1 Special Edition and Ankh 2 together for a budget price which is a very nice offer as the gamelength was one of the main issues for this adventure. Now there is a lot to riddle, really a good one!

Is this the one after or before the "Dragon" one, I'm sorta playing that one on the PS2 at the moment and I like it.

Thats what I like about it, you can hunt for ages and ages for a solution, then when you suss it, there is an actual feeling of sheer relief... until you get to the next one! :D

The problem was they didn't really feel logical...
