Any Blitz games in retail at the moment??

I do remember seeing some ages ago when Idigicon published them, but sadly, not recently.

Dabz

The Wonderful Wizard of Oz will be shortly in the US, and then in Russian.

I saw a load in Staples recently, bargain bin though unfortunately

In the UK, Kick Shot Pool is due out on Friday ( August 31st ) and Bowling Babes is due out mid-October. They're already listed on Amazon and Play.com and I understand that HMV and Toys R Us will be among the high street retailers stocking them.

I'm not sure about elsewhere. I know they had an order for 2,000 in the Netherlands/Belgium back in May, but I'm not sure where they're being sold.

wow cool stuff Gabriel.

Crysis is due in November.

They've pushed Blitz3D pretty much to its DX7 limits here:

You joke, but given the man power, you could do crysis in Blitz, it's just like anything else, time and effort, that's all. Oh, and a whole lot of skill.

Filax used to post some demos that looked very good quality, if developed, they would look similar to crysis.

Not unless you wrote a software renderer :). Really, there's no way a DirectX 7 engine can match the quality of a DirectX 9/10 engine - without the advanced shader effects, it really wouldn't be Crysis any more. Not to mention a DirectX 7 version of Crysis, even without pixel shaders, would probably run much slower even on the top hardware, since a lack of vertex shaders would make it impossible to use hardware acceleration for animations, etc.

Heh, got THAT right... It would take a miracle for Crysis to even run on basic DX9 hardware at this point. Seems like if you aren't set for late DX9/early DX10 gaming by now, I dunno what to tell ya.

Back on topic, tho, I thought that Platypus was ported to PSP and sold in retail, I've yet to pick that one up. That still available at GameStop or Best Buy or something?

Yes platypus was ported to PSP, but it's not technically a blitz game on the PSP, just as Worm's is no longer a Blitz game, that went C++ a long time ago.
