Hi Tim, off-topic : I have been trying to contact you via your Indiepath forums and using 'Contact Us' from Indiepath.com. What's your prefered method of being contacted?
Preparing for the Holiday ru$h. ;)
MGE Developer: you're making this framework so are you planning to release some commercial games soon(ish). If so will they be action-oriented (you seem to be into that) or casual? I'll be interested to see what you come up with.
I'll be making a Holiday Bonus GOLD with more features, levels and a story + a Mac version. It won't be too much work and allows me to relaunch last year's title again on (the same +) more portals. It did pretty well last year so a relaunch makes sense. My Easter Bonus game sold more copies in the relaunch than originally!
Jake are you going to release Holiday Bonus every year like Slade and their Christmas record?
I'm working on stuff which is coming together. no worries :)
@Tony, seem to have missed those emails - please contact me ( at ) indiepath.com

Hehe. I anxious to see something original from you Jake. Not the BFG game and not match-3. Something from your inner mind.
Steve and Chromo: Ho Ho Ho as Santa would say. Listen guys, I've got some viable material that I can relaunch to make some more money and to build my customer base. I've listened to the feedback from my customers and I'll put in some stuff they wanted to see and it'll help my finances, my portfolio, my relationship with the portals and my general "I make games Experience Points". Besides I never felt that I'd finished that game properly due to time constraints last year so I'd really like to see it in it's ultimate incarnation.
Making games for BFG is pretty sweet and I get to put in a lot of my own input so I plan to make more for them.
I'm not planning any more seasonal titles or match-3s but hey I can't ever rule that out if an opportunity presents itself.
The only way at the moment that it's viable for me to do something from my "inner mind" is as a hobby. I actually have a couple of things brewing (some on my own and some as partnerships with other people) that I hope to work on along side my commercial projects. Why aren't my commercial projects something from my "inner mind"? Well that's a classic chestnut and we musn't derail this thread. I'm just gaining skills, contacts and money (because I made bugger all money for 2 years learning to make games, got into debt and relied on my partner too much) in making good quality mainstream commercial games so that I can then reapply those skills to something more "up my street" later on. All the "why don't you make something creative" talk doesn't pay the bills at the moment and I have quite a few bills (big house, 2 kids, car etc) ;-)
Anyway, wish me luck with my hobbies and then hopefully you'll see something cool...
Jake I was only teasing you. I like (and have bought) your games. They get more and more polished each time, so well done!
You say you weren't completely happy (due to time restraints) and want to improve the game - I'm always doing that! Not commercial so no restraints on my projects here - but I like to re-work them again and again - until I'm happy.
Ofcourse you're right by targetting a market that pays. But for your own sanity you can't make match-3 games forever! ;-)
The trick is to produce something commercial and original.
for sure. It will feel good to make a GOLD version and I've spoken to the artist and we are ready to roll :-)
Need jingly music?
Thanks man, got lots already but maybe I could add some more...not sure it needs it though.
