Hello.

For sh*ts and giggles, I'm doing a 2D vector entity system (VentLib) that uses pure 2D (not 2D-in-3D). Then, I remembered that modern GFX cards can be pretty rubbish at doing pure 2D, so, can people try this demo and report FPS, GFX card and CPU specs, please.

It basically just uses Blitz3D's Line command for rendering, but on a locked backbuffer. I hope this works ok on other peoples' PCs!

Oh, mouse moves the parent entity, BTW.

Thanks!

Slowest FPS 327
average seems to be about 367

Ta. What are your GFX and CPU specs?

(Um, please also say how modern your card is, because I've completely lost touch with what the lastest cards are :/)

see my sig. (my card is about 1.5 years old, and it's a budget one)

*EDIT*
I have two the same, but SLI is disabled

heh - sorry. I must be blind. :)

I guess my x800 is mediocore by todays standards?

Dunno scouse, that's still plenty FPS, though. Ta. :)

Thanks. It's looking like modern cards can cope with this fine. :)

Average 240-240, didn't move mouse. Slowest may be set just as the program boots so isn't very accurate. Try setting it after a few seconds or having a "reset slowest" key.

Radeon 9800XT 256MB (was good once), 3.2GHz HT P4, 1GB RAM.

Yeah, I'm not really interested in 'slowest' here, so it's fine. :)

Thanks all!

Actually, I'm not even sure why I'm doing this - is anyone likely to make use of this? I guess it can all be done using 2D-in-3D. Ah, well.
