Understatement of the year:



At the power intensities involved, even the reflection/glare or such a laser will permanently damage your retinas in no-time, no direct peering into the laser required.

Not to mention the 'staring directly into the beam' being shorter than even your blink reflex can kick in before damage occurs.

This is not a toy, this is a weapon. Do not try at home.

While cool as hell, people would be stupid to even switch this on without IR/UV goggles on.
We used medium powered solid state lasers at uni and they are NOT to be messed with.

Just looking at the projected dot (even if not directly angled for a rebound) some light does get reflected (thats why you can see the dot) can cause progressive retina damage you would probably never know about until your next optician visit.

xlsior you are 100% right!Please, to all the new user here, pretty much the kids, DONT try this. This isnt to be messed with. Now dont think Im being just my ol' cop self, and I dont want you having weapons (which I dont) I dont want you getting hurt. Your eyes WILL pay the price. :(

And on one last note before I leave this topic. If anyonehere chooses to make this, at least take out the battery BEFORE you put it away. Heaven forbid anybody goes and needs a flashlight at your home, and stumbles accross your new lazer. MOST people, look into flashlight, to look for light, so they know its not dead. Think about your mom, or kids. Please play it safe.
