When I turned on my Wii this morning, I saw that Nintendo had a preview of the upcoming Metroid Prime 3 Corruption game on the Virtual Console. I d/led that, and by far and away, I can already see this giving Bungie and Halo 3 a run for their money. Between Samus and Master Chief, I'm wondering how this rivalry's gonna go?
Anyone notice the Metroid Prime 3 Preview?
Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Anyone notice the Metroid Prime 3 Preview? they're actually putting previews on virtual console?
Cool, I've been wondering when they'll do more than just put old roms on there for high prices.

What kind of stupid preview is that? I thought it would be a game demo, since you had to download it. But no, it's 4 movies that you stream from the internet? What's the point in that?

Click on help and it'll tell you how to do something else, too!
I've looked, and seen nothing. I'm in the UK, are you seeing this in the US?
See'ing it from Canada here, but the trailers are useful for me as they play for 5 seconds, then hit the buffer.......would be a lot easier for my to optimize the network connection to the damn system if it had a means of telling me the signal strength and network speed like my PSP. -.-
Bit of a shame that you had to download a channel to view the stuff though, was hoping you could just play the videos right off the Shopping Channel, unless Nintendo has plans for a Media-Channel soon enough that'll allow that eventually.
(for demos, previews, patches, etc, Wii will be needing better SD Card support or a USB HD though)

It would be nice if they would actually put out sample demos like the PS3 and 360 does. Oh wait, the Wii don't have the storage capacity.
Yeah, but then Nintendo may wind up mandating a large capacity SD Card (1 GB or more, preferably 2 - 4 GB), should they choose the same route that the other two consoles take, as far as demo or trailer downloads in the future... I mean, there ARE plenty of SD cards that can handle those things now, and not too expensive, either. So, who knows? Maybe Ninty may do something eventually... It's just like that the X360 requires the HDD for stuff like that. It'll happen, believe you me.
Looks like a fun game, the preview sold it for me. So i think it's good advertising.
Yeah, at least it'll be one of the first REAL successful FPS games on the system. Red Steel, Far Cry Vengeance, and all the others out there (except for CoDs 3 and 4, those are all right), may as well be sleeping with the fishes. Seems like this may put up a good fight with Master Chief and Halo 3, before all is said and done.
The problem with the Metroid Pime games is that while it does play in the FPS perspective, the gameplay itself is quite dull and more akins to folks who actually enjoy the exploring and backtracking concepts of the Metroid genre.
Metroid Prime 3 is supposely more focused on the combat elements this time around so it actually be more fun. I'm definately gonna get the game, but still not convinced its going to be that great until I actually play it.
