I animated the first half of this commercial. Before you guys bag me on the lack of animation quality, please note that I only had 10 days for animation from beginning to end and it was the first time I'd ever animated anything in XSI (great program, BTW). I racked up over 147 hours in 2 weeks time. Ahhh, overtime pay!

Also, my nights & weekends were tied up with this quicky (lightwave) animation I cranked out for a Sci-Fi channel competition: http://www.wewerecenturions.com

And that's my (current) excuse for why "Bad, Bad Bots!" isn't complete. But I'm back to work on it and it's coming along nicely. :)

My friend is a programmer on that game (EA Montreal) ;)

What is that fat, pink thing dancing? :P

EA's idea of the average gamer?

You mean average American gamer...lol. Actually theres been a lot of news account of fat british folks on the rise too.

Generally the world is getting fatter I think...

The next stage of (d)evolution is going to be obese humanoids with wasted legs unable to support the gluteus mass above them, extra wide mouths for consumption of pizza slices and a few additional fingers for firebuttons 8,9, and 10.

I've seen the future... and it ain't pretty.

Haha I like your work dustin!

Can you tell me a bit about yourself? how did you get started?

Thats thanks to all that tasty american 'food' :P

I thought the animation was great.

@Lowcs - well that's sort of an open ended question. In a nutshell, I've been playing with 3D since the Amiga days (anyone remember Videoscape 3D?). Got serious about it in the mid-90s. Moved out to Los Angeles 7 years ago and have been working steady ever since. I'm currently working away at Zoic Studios mainly on commercials & tv shows.

Really cool.

I just saw that commercial the other day, and it intrigued me. Looks good :)

On a side note, what is the gameplay like? Is it a ddr meets karaoke game or somethin?

Seems to be extremely simplistic gameplay according to GameSpot, which just involves making your dude with the d-pad, and swinging in the cardinal points.

Looked fine here, everything flowed nice and seamlessly, which is not too shabby considering it was a dance scene (lots of movement and anticipation required), and you only had 10 bloody days to work on it.

I look forward to doing 3d animations myself in the future once I get through my Animation course in college, something about making something come to life in a believable fashion intrigues me for some reason.

Jeez! Your animations look great, not to mention "Bad, Bad Bots!" I wish I was you.
