Sounds a good deal with source.

I'm not interested in 3D anymore, but for ambitious developers that's a chance... and, that's Site License just for $100, killer...

Thanks for the tip. Just bought one.

Better get there quick before Amon buys 27 of those 500 licenses :P

hehe!

Funnily enough I won't be buying a license for this. :)

I spent this months cash on Leadwerks Engine and Silo upgrade. :)

More spare cash next month though. :)

Well, maybe puki will be interested in this...

I've spend my $$ this month to Aurora/EBasic source... if it's still available next month I'll buy.

BTW, Power Render is pretty well designed, maybe equal or better than TV3D, atleast on animation and scene handling....

Gabriel, do you intend to make it accessible to BMax? If so maybe I picked the wrong time to stick with B3D for awhile....DOH!!!

Mmm, I'll buy one of these.

I've had it confirmed that they source versions in fact have been listed at £2,500 to $5,500

This is something that seems to be worth money.

However, look at their forums - where are all the people? There's less than a thousand posts in like 2 years.

Wait a minute.

I'm going to download the free version of it first. They have pulled the free version from their site, but it exists elsewhere.

Gabriel, do you intend to make it accessible to BMax?

No, I have no plans to do that.

I won't buy this - I downloaded the free version from another site, but I cannot be bothered setting up Visual Studio with it. There's no point paying for something when you can't even motivate yourself to get the free version working.

If the example programs worked without too much hassle then it might make it more attractive. Having a load of demos that you cannot simply just run and see them (like with Blitz products) is a complete turn-off to me.

..yeah...sounds interesting..unfortunatelly I got this thing some times ago...what I am looking for with big interest is Cobra3D...by the way, there is a rumor that Cobra3D is almost out, Im wondering is there any available demo or trailer or something like that, what can roughly show what that thing can do...on their web site there is no much info about it, so I dont know actually, how some folks claiming that Cobra is almost out..

beta testers have had cobra3d for a while now.

PowerRender is a SDK - which means you need a compiler to make it work or a wrapper... which is tons of work.

If you want a working DX9 render, many free alternatives out here.

Downloading a free compiler from Microsoft isn't exactly expensive or difficult.

If you want a half-assed DX9 renderer, certainly. There are not many free alternatives on a par with PowerRender, and none that aren't just as much SDK's as it is.

Oh, yes, maybe, might, posible, you're the programming god.

Maybe, might, possible, so those ones who using free tools are making miracle.

No, they're just working harder than they need to. I don't know about you, but I already work hard enough without making my life more difficult.

Actually I saw many crap games made with TV3D or PowerRender, blame the SDK;) ?

I think you're confusing your reply with mine. I wasn't the one who was equating the quality of the game with the quality of the engine. You were, and if you believe it, you're wrong.

Incidentally, would you care to name some of these many crap TV3D and PowerRender games you saw? I'm not aware of many games - good or bad - made with either, and I'd be interested to learn about some.

I'm not working hard enough, I'm a doctor and dealing with patients, coding is just side thing around my new house/car, or my wife.

Toying with this is useless, hope you've worked hard enough because there's some patient on queue.

LOL

Yeah, just as I thought.

Very nice to know that.

tried the demos and beside the platworld, where mainly the loading seems to take quite some time, everything worked and worked quite good.

especially love the splatting terrain that changes texture in realtime as you terrainform ...

perhaps I might dig out and old ide again with this kind of technology (prototyped it once with Blitz3D using a self made chunk based mesh terrain with decal support and realtime deformation and auto retexturing based on height and vertexnormalY. But it showed up to be too expensive without anything else above that (ate 8+ ms on a Radeon 9700 which is too much if no physics and particles as well as animation is in)
Will have to check it out :)
