Hmmm... YouTube for Game Promo?
Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Hmmm... YouTube for Game Promo?
I think it's common knowledge to host screen shot or demo version on your site....
Since YouTube is a high traffic point and allows embed video, it's pretty ideal for mid sized video.
A question is, do they accept you to use the video for such purpose, and how long is the avalibility of the video?
Yes, many people use youtube for this.
Only problem is the poor quality of the video. I wouldn't want to host my videos there.
Man, I read this as, "Youtube for Game Porno..."
[edit]
Looking around, DailyMotion seems to hold higher quality videos...
The video app on Facebook is quite high quality... the only downside is that only people with a Facebook account can view Facebook pages.
"Game Porno", I'm going to look that up right now.
what about google video?
I've never uploaded anything myself but
http://stage6.divx.com seems to allow high quality videos
Google runs youtube now, and the video quality of both is roughly the same. Plus nobody goes to Google video.
But yeah this is a good idea. I was planning to do this with my game. Even if the video quality is crappy, it's free advertising.
Or use Vuze, the new version of azureus. We all know there is no faster way to spread stuff than using "no brain but click" leachers to spread it fast and far. :-)
I placed a couple of vids of Tank Universal on Youtube - pretty useful - the link has gone far and wide.
If it's a cool video, people will link to it on You Tube, so seems like good advertising. You could always put in a link pointing to your site where they can find a better quality one.
Anyways, if you're bored check out the Gizmo Documentary on Google video (
