This might make me reconsider my choice to use Blitzmax for my project.

Bah. I mean, it's a good thing, but the setback of having to get to speed with Torque would be annoying/disheartening.

This might make me reconsider my choice to use Blitzmax for my project.

Why? Do you have official Nintendo Dev status?

Gabriel, anyone that did, probably wouldnt post here.

Anyone that that says "This might make me reconsider my choice to use Blitzmax for my project." is talking the usual nonsense.

Anyone that dislikes 'getting up to speed' on anything wont get anything done.

Sorry SculptureOfSoul, but your saying the usual dribble... pardon me if I dont.. erm.. forget it!

Is it noted anywhere that you need "official Nintendo Dev status" to deploy on the WiiWare channel? Not that I've heard. I've heard it's going to be much more 'anything goes', as long as you can pass basic QA and pay to have the ESRB rate your game.

As to your comments Dabz, well, you're entitled to your opinion. The thing is, my game - if you can call it that, is really more of a 'self-help' tool in a sense, and that kind of thing seems to have gone over, and continues to go over well on Nintendo's latest systems (i.e. Brain Age.) It'll be interesting to see how WiiFit does.

And I don't recall saying I necessarily disliked getting up to speed on it, it's just another setback. Not necessarily a big deal in the scheme of things. Well, before I decide on anything I'm going to continue to work on art assets, game design and prototypes. Anyways, I do eagerly await to hear more about and see how WiiWare actually pans out.

I think that anybody who has trouble making/completing games in Blitz, isn't going to have a hope in hell of getting any further with Torque.

What you actually said was it is "disheartening". So unless you like being disheartened, Dabz' comment was pretty fair.

Lol @ 'Wii' and 'pan'.

It says on the very page that Amon linked to :

Get your official Nintendo Wii dev status and check back soon for pricing and the SDK.

you don't need nintendo dev status to deploy for wiiware

but a dev kit to use TGE4W and that actually means that you have Nintendo Wii Dev Status.

Why I know. I own TGE and TGB and on both boards threads exist on this topic as people would be seriously interested in a WiiWare "software SDK" solution for that but at the moment it does not seem like TGE4W will be a such ... it will be release seriously before WiiWare.

Reason is that one of the employees meant that Nintendo is not going a "XNA like route" with their stuff announced on WiiWare ... which I think is rather sad ...

Sorry about that SculptureOfSoul, I was in a foul mood after a night-out and after seeing red when I was out... I was still seeing it when I got in.

No excuses really, just wanna post to say sorry about the comments which I could of put in a more democratic way.

I'm a good lad really! ;)

No worries Dabz. So far, all I have done is talk the talk without walking the walk, but I've taken my first steps - and everyone has to take their first steps sometimes.

I can understand the skepticism of 'those who have' about 'those who haven't', but at times the condescension gets a bit thick and I'm reminded why I rarely visit technical forums outside of addressing specific problems. Anyways, the apology is appreciated and accepted (ah, alliteration, always amusing :P.)
