For PS3:

Mindboggling.

Not even watching the vid, seen many.. its cool but...

this new MGS uses a stealth suit based on camoflauge.

Why isn't the suit from the original good enough? I mean, it makes snake completely invisible. Why not use it here!?

Is there a version which doesn't require Quicktime?

Cygnus:
This is a video of actual gameplay, unlike all the other ones that have been out.

I know the suit you're talking about but I don't remember snake ever getting access to it. There was some ninja that had it. Maybe it was the second game where he got it? But isn't most of that game played with that blond guy? And the third one is set in the past with regular camo as far as I know.

Gabriel:
That page has links below the video which let you pick quicktime or window media, and you can even download the video if you want.

That was one hell of a demo. While the previous trailers looked really good, I always did wonder what the actual game play was like. Needless to say, it was freakin awesome....another game to look forward to. Heres another link for it : http://media.ps3.ign.com/media/714/714044/vids_1.html

It doesn't look much different to splinter cell to me. At least it looks like it may actually have gameplay this time, instead of all the crappy FMV dross.

I find the graphics somewhat dull, they always go for the muted saturation in their palletes which make it look like your monitor is broken or has a grey overlay.

Otherwise I like it, thought the statue thing was dumb though, stands out like a sore thumb against the more classic style of the others lol, enemy grunts would just vandalize a statue like that since it would most likely draw their attention.

Heh, seen it still lol.

Snake has it at the beginning of the second game, and you CAN aquire it in the first. No matter what he should still use it in the 4th if hes able to use the other crappy lower-tech one :P

It's a bonus item in the first after having beaten the game a specific way, and doesn't the camo break-down in the 2nd right in the first cutscene itself?

It looks fun, but graphically Gears of War still trounces that.

Disagrees.

*loads up Gears of War on dusty xbox 360*

Well maybe, I'll have to actually play MGS4 first to really decide. Definately one of the better looking in game clip I've seen lately.

Yep- So what? that suit exists and is in the game. Therefore theres no reason Snake couldnt use that technology. :P

Maybe it causes cancer?

Other than that ... it's a bit of a no-brainer. If you could just turn invisible you wouldn't have to think about your environment too much. Maybe the insisible suit is affected by some sort of jamming signal or depleted uranium rounds from the war?

From what I've played in GoW (had it for a rental), I've not come across a scene that was as busy as the one showcased in the MGS4 gameplay footage though....anyhow, the two will likely be on par graphically as the overall product, as I'm certain there's no vibrant settings to explore, rather than that to-be war torn setting that lacks a bit in the colour variety department.

Anyhow, still waiting on the announcement that they'll be porting it to the 360, as I personally see it inevitable considering how much it's costing Konami to produce it, as I doubt the amount of current PS3 owners (as well as people who'll just purchase the PS3 solely for MGS4 on it's launch) will bring the title past break-even in the profit margin, unless Sony ponys up a huge wad of cash to keep it exclusive.

I never played past MGS2 on PS2, all the cutscenes really did my head in. A game shouldn't force you to sit through over half an hour solid of video and talking.

You can tell the guy who designed it would rather write films, and that he's really trying to blue the line between games a films, but not quite managing it too well.

Yes the MGS series sells millions, and yes, the gameplay elements of it are excellent, but I can't bring myself to play MGS3 or get my hopes up for 4 because I really just want to play a game, if I wanted the movie, I'd watch Navy Seals.

Just my 2 cents. (well, pence actually, I'm British :-) )

Could be a long wait. Kojima just recently reiterated that it's not coming to 360. The "big announcement about a 360 conversion" that Konami had been hinting at turned out to be Silent Hill V instead.

Well, i dont mind, as long as they explain it. otherwise its going to be a bit of a hole for me. XD

I'd watch Navy Seals.

ugh...what a crappy movie! lol...

coooooool... almost makes me want to buy a console! :)

i waiting for

One day i see myself walking into a store and buying a PS3. And then i'll be playing around with the LBP level editor... :O)

I think the artificial intelligence could use some tweaking. Still, very impressive.
