Adventure Jack Keane

Hi,

i've just played through the demo of Jack Keane (the first three chapters) and to me this is the first german adventure which makes fun. It isn't perfect and doesn't come close to Monkey Island but it's still fun to play. The graphics are not my style, music and the synchronisation could do better but the humour is partly really funny, good voices and the riddles are also working.

Just for those who like adventures you should give it a try.

hey cool, This game was made using Ogre 3D. Was wondering whether it was good enough to be worth buying. I personaly like the cartoony style, their other two adventure games have a similar style, but with an ancient egypt setting, reminded me of Disneys aladin or Prince of Egypt animated films.

I just finished playing Ankh (the ancient egypt one), and this one definitely looks interesting.

It's from the guys who did Ankh 1 and 2? I wanted to play those but both of them crashed all the time, the first one so badly I ended up having to reformat. Assuming they've sorted the technical issues this time around, I'd like to have a go at this. Can't find a demo though. Is it German only for now?

I didn't have any instability issues with Ankh at all, except the inconvenience of the game killing itself any time I tried to use Alt-TAB to switch to the desktop while it was running.

Ankh 2 hasn't been out long, and so far seems to be hard to find in the US outside of the import shops.

Its supposed to be out in the autumn here in the US. No stability problems with the ankh demos here on either 6600GT or Geforce 3. Havent tried it on my new 7800 GS

It worked without any problems beside of some texture glitches in one scene here (played on a GeForce3). And yep they did Ankh before but what i've seen so far it's better than Ankh and longer - hey pirates and islands! ;O)

They said 15-20 hours of gameplay. The demo is available through a german magazine called GameStar (they rated the game with 88% which is overrated in my opinion, i guess they also wanted to push a german adventure a bit as i would give it a 7 out of 10 from what i've seen so far) and it will be released in germany on the 1.8.2007.

Did you find time to play through Sam&Max so far? :O) I think the last two or three episodes really were better than the rest.

I preordered the discs for Sam & Max myself -- didn't feel like buying the online episodes, but much rather have the actual media in one go. They should be shipped before long. :-?

I think they waited a bit in order to know how much dvds to press. I havn't got a confirmation mail myself so far but it's said that you get the disc by the end of this month or within the next one. TTG are very good on merchandising and milking their fanbase.

I pre-ordered through Amazon... Although I noticed that they have since raised the price, it was listed for $19.99 when I put in my order.

I do get the DVD for the shipping costs so overall i guess i payed $45 for the game. Much more but hey i already had the fun. ;O)

It seems to de pretty well, as it was sold out in the first two stores i went into.

I'm wary of european adventure games. Maybe they suffer in translation, but usually they are rather poor. Ankh was better than most but still pretty shoddy.

Yep me too, this is the first german adventure i've bought. I'm in chapter four and i don't regret it. Really fun to play... :O)

That website's made my PC temp go up 3 degrees :) Looks pretty though.

Nice idea of rating the overhead of a website... :O) Contrary the game is very modest and runs, beside of some texture glitches, very fine even on my old gfx card.

Just played through the adventure.

And wow, a really good one! The longer you play the better it gets. Overall it's better than Sam&Max Season 1 so if you're interested in adventures i advise you to get it when it's available in your language.
