I am fairly certain it can be done using mplayer and embedding the output in your window.

we can playback practically every format under the sun in blitz, even 1080p hi def material.

As a more general question, for windows, could B3D exe be used with CreateProcess to play movies?

Would be nice if Ogg Theora (non-patented, open source video format) was available with BMax as a module. Cross-platform and no licensing issues!
