Nice graphics but the gameplay looks worse even than the first Far Cry. What the hell is the point of these spectacularly realistic visuals when they're married with a game which has you bounding around, leaping between roofs? It's just silly. That's one good thing to be said about Gears of War. No hopping around like Zebedee all the damn time.
If they took out the super powers I think it would be a brilliant game.
It's a sci-fi game, so they added sci-fi stuff. Later on, you go against 50 foot tall mechanical alien monsters with large tantacules, what do you expect?

And the problem with that is what? Perhaps I like hoping around between roofs. I thought Far Cry was a great game anyways.

..nice graphics..thats all I can say...gameplay? well..I cant say much based on those videos, but I guess, its not much in there, obviously, they have been spend time on engine, not game itself..
I loved Far Cry, the parts where you could lure the mercs, the AI was fun to play with. It may have been daft sometimes but there was a lot of room for sneaking and tricking the AI. Not many games allow for realistic sniping, I really liked it when I came to the cliff with the carrier in the distance, was a great place to snipe from, and stealing the vehicles was cool.
didn't care much for the mutant monsters, but otherwise it was a brilliant game :). Reason I don't like super powers is that they are boring. I'd rather have equaly matched skills without any unfair advantage over the other humans. You get enough of an advantage in most FPS by being hard to kill. One of the things I liked about stalker was the realistic feel of the weapons, and how easy it was to die if you werent careful.
I loved Far Cry too.
What i dislike in Crysis is the Nanosuit. From the videos it destroys the human factor for me. It's more like a super-hero game...Jungle-Boy with a cape or so. I think i don't like it but you can't be sure until you've played it, so... Maybe they should have stayed with their first game design where you get such a suit later on in the game. It just looks much more powerful compared to the suit of HalfLife and somehow in the wrong environment.

I personally, think the allure of super powers is being underpowered. It's a great fantasy when you don't feel capable. As a kid it's a nice thing to dream about. As a man, there isn't much challenge to anything aside from pushing yourself to meet goals. In most cases as a man the only thing to worry about is pure determination as opposed to childhood when there were somethings that really were impossible both physically and mentally.
All that said, it's still a game ... you know?
I prefer fantasy in fantasy environments. I liked the idea of running around in a hawaii t-shirt in far cry more. Maybe Latex-Nanosuits are good for sex or when you're fighting against the aliens later on.
As for superheros: Spiderman and the Silver Surfer! ;O)
To be honest - I probably won't use the special powers thing. It isn't my cup of tea. I'd play it in the style of Far Cry as much as possible.
I played the Max Payne games and avoided using the bullet-time thing - and also when playing F.E.A.R. I avoided the slow-mo thing.
I am literally bursting to play Crysis though. ALSO, there will be demo versions released soon - apparantly.
Crysis, Colin McRae DiRT and Lost Planet are all screaming at me to upgrade my gfx card. I'm so seriously considering buying an 8800GTS right now :-/

And as a special gimmick for this level, we hid a turtle somewhere, and whoever finds it will get...well, they will get basically nothing except satisfaction.
The Quake 3 player movement makes me uninterested in the game itself, but I will buy this for research purposes if the demo doesn't show enough.
I've gotten pretty used to the combat in Stalker, and I don't think I could go back to another game where you run around through bullets.
