the awesome power of raytracer

Miscellaneous Forums/Graphics Showcase/the awesome power of raytracer

I was messing around with the 3ds max 8 raytracer, thought I'd post some pics.

these 3 are 675 spheres all raytraced to eachother, the enviroment color changes, take note on how the color can affect the mood of the picture

this one is kinda bad, but it looks OK.

this one's the best...in my opinion.

added another one: this is an indoor pool with caustics casting on the walls (did this a week after the other ones)

thanks for looking!

Quite cool! I've always liked rendered images with distortions and the like, though. Ever try Modo's renderer? It's beautiful, in the right hands (although I suppose this applies to any renderer).

Thanks. Afraid I've never heard of Modo's renderer...and unless it's free, I don't see myself using it.

These are nice raytrace: http://www.povray.org/community/hof/
