Quick Mac Q.

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Quick Mac Q.

The way they brag about the fact the OS just "works", is that primarily due to the fact that it appears all their revisions of hardware are all set pieces?

Been looking at the MacBooks yet again, and it always appeared that there were 3 types per "tier", there's the basic unit, the average unit, then the upper-end one that typically costs $200 more, but has more ram and crap (or in the case of the MacBook Pros, a better video card).......

Never seen the option to pick & choose pieces, which sucks for me as it means I have to resort to purchasing a MacBook Pro over a Standard as there's no god dang way I'm purchasing a $1k+ laptop that only has an integrated video card.

There is more to that claim than just including the same/right hardware for each system.

There prices are a bit steep, but well worth the investment in my opinion.

Even the "Hackintosh" users are quite happy with their hacked OS X on normal PC hardware. It actually is the software that "just works", and the hardware only adds to that experience.
