Anyone got a SoundBlaster Extreme Gamer soundcard?

I`m thinking of getting one, are they any good or should I go for the fatality one which cost a little more?

I've got an X-Fi Xtreme Gamer sound card, and I've been really pleased with it. Soundblaster claim that it gives a 15% boost in performance when compared with motherboard audio and the like. I can't confirm or deny that, but I'm really pleased with the crystal clear sounds it knocks out. For the money, it's a great card imho. I also use it more music creation, and it's never let me down. The Fatal1ty didn't seem worth the extra to me (for what I use it for).

What are the extras with the Fatal1ty card? I want to mainly use it for FLStudio and listening to music DVD, is this card good enough for that?

I use FLStudio and I'm always listening to music (in iTunes mostly). ASIO ssems much better to me than it was on my old Audigy2. Much better drivers I guess. The X-Fi has never given me any grief, and the output it crisp and clear. The Soundblaster site should list the differences between the two cards. I can't remember what they were now. I bought my card about 3 or so months ago.

Whatever soundcard you go for can turn out to be irrelevent if you have average speakers. This is something to bare in mind.

Which card did you go for puki in your latest PC? Are you happy with it?

I have a X-Fi Xtreme Gamer - having said that, it was the only option I could have, other than onboard sound. My other gaming system has SB Audigy 2.

I didn't notice anything amazing about the audio quality of the X-FI Xtreme Gamer over my Audigy2 - this might be speaker related. The X-FI card is certainly less configurable than my Audigy 2.

How about latency in FL Studio, does it cope well? What sort of results do you guys get?
