I have 3 good game ideas that are off-the-wall and original. I doubt that I'll actually ever get around to finishing them and I'm considering sharing these ideas in hopes that someone may actually do something with them. Is anyone else in the same boat? And are you just gonna keep them to yourself even though you know you'll probably never get around to doing them?

Bacon and Eggs, A racer where you're a chicken saddled on the back of a roller skating pig.

Chroma: Was it you working on a WW2 fighter sim of some type? Have the planes been grounded or what?
It was looking very nice as I recall.

Yep, Air War 1946. All the planes have been grounded due to the high price of gas here. :(
That was one of my ideas that I was most excited about. What really thwarted that game was the flight physices code. I have recently written some working flight sim code and may start working on that game again. I think I first started working on AW1946 in 2001ish. About 6 years ago... If I had stuck with it, who knows where it'd be today. Maybe even on the shelf at Wal-Mart. /cry

I think it'd be a good idea to have a games design forum on here where people can share their game designs and people can link to worklogs when they decide to develop the actual game.
what happened to the match-3 engine?
I got so many game ideas I don't know where to start...

The match-3 engine is WIPBKOHFSUR (work in progress but kinda on hold for some unknown reason). ;p
I'd say 90% of my game ideas are 3D games. That's
why it's so hard for me to complete a 2D game; my heart just isn't in it.

I know that it's unrealistic for me to complete a 3D game unless I assemble a reasonable size team. My heart has always been in 2D games as that's what the first games I ever player were and I love them. However, I still like playing 3D games too :-)
2d or 3D doesn't bother me... I'm usually trying to write a 3D game that plays like a 2D game though.
I think limiting the AW1946 idea down to a more precise simulation of just one airplane might make the project more manageable. Trying to model 30-40 planes can really get depressing.
I've always like the F-105 Thunderchief. But that would make it a Korean/Vietnam era type thing. Plus since Blitz3D can't do normal maps, that really is a big issue to me since most games out there use them these days.

For 6-7 years I've been meaning to make a game much like skool daze except you are an old woman trying to prove to her son (and evil step daughter) that you do not need putting in a home.

Raz: Ace! That could be a real hit if you finish it!
LOL @ Granny game, that's original & funny. I loved the SkoolDaze style games, they were a huge hit back in the day.
I don't need anyone elses ideas - ideas are plentiful and easy to come by. My problem is that I don't have any time to make a game.
The idea of a game based on grannies is really not that creative. It's just an aspect of British culture mainly to think of old withered ladies and their apparent weakness, turning round and being all tuff and clouting someone with a handbag. That's just pulling out an aspect of common culture and making fun of it, not really an original idea.
It may not be original but it could sell.
@Raz, brilliant idea, brought a smile to my face when I seen it.
@Grey... with regard to 3D I delved into that first, had a working prototype of my product - you've got a rough idea of the rest. T-minus four years might be up for it though...
@Angel Daniel, not sure I agree with your sentiment. Speaking from the point of view (as a British person) who is taking the NHS to court on behalf of my grandmother (coughlin case - google it), I think raising awareness of the elderlys plight is commendable. All the best with your original idea raz.
match 3s are the future - how about on palms ?
