Networking connection problem

I have got a system setup that allows a client to connect to the server, this works perfectly if using "127.0.0.1" but if I try to 'advertise' the server on GNet and connect via that the system comes up with a connection error. I have disabled the firewall to see if it was that somehow blocking the system but it still doesnt connect.

Anyone have any ideas as to why it doesnt connect with an internet IP address over the localhost?

Just open / forward the port on your router to the local ip waiting on that port for packets... different clients means different ports and so also different rules of port forwarding.

Thanks didnt think of that, been on a direct connection for years. Now on a wireless router forgot ya had to open ports :)
