Next BlitzMax Update?
Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Next BlitzMax Update?
I hate to be one of those people who complain about lack of information regarding BlitzMax status, but the last update was 6 months ago. Since then we've been promised numerous fixes "in the next release" by Mark and Skid, as well as official support for the newer FASM and more.
I truly appreciate the work Mark is doing on other products/projects, but I hope he will update his worklog very soon with some information on BlitzMax 1.26.

That's not true. There have been numerous 'fixes' for 1.24 by way of syncmods.
What specifically are you waiting for?
Presumably as more things become fixed there is less reason to have updates?
Nothing specific, but often large gaps between updates make it much harder to implement said update with existing projects. I'd prefer smaller updates with shorter durations between releases. Likewise, updates in the past have often contained enhancements and additions that are welcomed by all users, even if we are not specifically waiting for them. Finally, stability and cross-platform compatibility has increased with every update, and for people working on commercial products these improvements are critical.
Yes, I appreciate every sycmod update that comes our way. I was just noticing a large number of "next release" fixes mentioned by Mark/Skid.
I'm more curious when B3d v1.99 will come out, as according to Skid, will have a couple of the fixes they made for the B3d SDK release, such as the long-standing alpha-sorting prob.

I was just wondering if anyone has picked up on the comedy value of having Mark and Skid appearing in such close proximity and has successfully used it in a thread where it is both hilarious and relavent to the thread? ( and also not offensive to said individuals Obv. )

I suspect that releasing a full update is a lot more work than just uploading code alterations and getting everyone to do a syncmods. I personally find this approach of Skid/Marks to be fine, but it is nice to have a full-version every so often for reinstalling purposes (and for new customers) I guess.

I always thought that might be how 'Skidmarks' got its name.

That was because the trial of poo stains from the car wheels that once appeared never vanished.
I wouldn't mind to get some of the features Mark mentioned in one of his worklog-entries like:
- string.split()
- array = array2 + array3
Let them come through!
