Damn, are there any decent companies around anymore? Can anyone recommend another decent company to buy a PC from, one that`s reliable.

Yeh, they (CyberPower) shipped a faulty system to me and then made me pay to return it to them.
I then went to PC option. I received a faulty system, but had it replaced. The system build was shoddy, it got despatched with a mobo alignment problem. They spelt my name wrong when registering Windows. They said they had already refunded me for the fact that the supplied case was cheaper than the one that I had paid for. I never got a refund. I followed this up and they ignored me.

The second line makes a statment - which leads to a factual statement: I have never received any refund.

Personally, I think there is a lot of luck to buying a PC. These people will ship a lot of systems that are perfect and the purchaser has no problems at all.
Did you ever get your new system then, in the end? Hope you did and it now works as you`d hoped it would in the first place.
I`m thinking of going with MESH again as they were great when I got my first PC, trouble is I cannot decide out of the ones on the following page which is the best option for me, I`m thinking maybe the £1499 one?
To anyone in the know does that sound like a decent machine? I haven`t really kept up to date on the specs lately so any advice would be most welcome. I don`t want to end up buying a turkey.

Mesh is good. They are the best of the worst. :)
It doesn't really matter. A PC worth £1499 is going to be very powerful. There are some with the same price but have a certain feature bumped down while bumping up another. ie. better GFX card, less HD Space or More HD Space, less powerful card.
Find the one which you will get the most use out of.

Basically, I think there's 'horror stories' about every PC vendor. They can't get it right 100% of the time. Pay yer money - take yer choice!

I never thought I'd say this (publicly), but Dell really seems to have gotten their shit together recently.

Yeah - I used to do desktop support a couple of years ago, a surprising number of people I visted that were having PC problems, had got them from Mesh, and called me after several months of getting nowhere with trying to get Mesh to repair their PCs under warranty.*cough* Gfk *cough*
One guy sent his PC back to them. They took over three months to return it, and when they did, it was exactly the same as when he'd sent it away. IIRC it was something to do with the modem not working.
Anyway - I always build PCs myself, now. I get the parts from CCL and all are covered by a one year return to base warranty, plus any manufacturer's warranty on things like hard drives.
They can't get it right 100% of the time.
Sure, anybody can make a mistake. But I judge Mesh on how quickly (or not) they put their mistakes right.
