3D Terrain Editor?

Does anyone know the best 3D Terrain Editor for Blitz 3D?

I like terraEd, but some would say that by definition TerraEd Pro is better

3D World Studio is the best in my opinion.It is a great all-round editor.But there is no "best" there is the most suitable for your project.

As mortiis said, it depends what you are trying to do. Read the descriptions of each one carefully to be sure any you choose does what you want.

Outline what you need in terms of features and then look through the features of each 3d terrain editor available here on the forum (look in the toolbox).

Then think, how about the mechanics, which system allows the features you most want and what code is provided, do you need special loaders or can you write your own.

There are two that come to mind.

TED - I've produced some nice looking stuff with this fine terrain creator. Check out the screen shots. http://www.d-grafix.com

3D World Studio has the leadfoot look and feel, I think Josh and company do a great job on their products.

Try them out and see how they do.

Doesn't the new giles version have support for terrains now, too?
That might be worth looking into.

I been playing around with Heightmap to make a race track but it not easy to do. I do have 3D World Studio but I need to boardband to register on internet so that I save my work.

Try DeleD. It's good for creating/texturing/lightmapping levels and can export to B3D though I've never tried to create terrains with it. There's a free or payed version.

For terrains I use ALE but it's not very stable at times which is annoying to say the least.

Delgine is interesting tool and hopefully I could make race track in that.

I was messing around with heightmap to make look track but it doesnt look good......why?
