Is this worth my time?

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Is this worth my time?

Hi, most of you probably don't know about this, but I have set up a wiki of sorts, for documentation. I call it WikiDoc (its at http://danbar10.allhyper.com/wikidoc ). I search for documentation on various tools and languages. But all too often I see a wealth of websites that provide detailed information on the basics of these tools, yet there is very few websites that provide info on advanced topics, and that info is usually difficult to use. I created WikiDoc in the hopes that I could change that pattern. I had planned that people could provide information about all languages and tools for those, and over time the documentation can improve, and cover more advanced topics.

I've asked some people to add info to it, just anything really. And a few have, but not much. The trouble is, it seems as though I'm still the only one that has added any amount of info to it. I realize its not very pretty, has almost no structure, but I think I can work on that. I know most people haven't heard of it, but I was hoping this would pick up members and begin to grow. But it hasn't.

So, does anyone think this is worth keeping alive, and working on? There's a lot that can be added, both content-wise and on the back end. But I just don't want to waste my time on it if nobody thinks its worthwhile.

I thought Blitz3D was released in 2001? Mmm, maybe it was 2002?

Still, I think it should be kept alive. It will live longer than "Venkadesan Tharshan".

Hmm... thanks, I think.

I think it was released in 2001. Or at least that's when I got it (which was very early on). I know I graduated highschool in 2000, went to college near home that year and the next spring semester, then started at the college I graduated from in fall 2001. I didn't learn about Blitz until shortly before I started college (and after I tried Dark Basic), and it was only 2D at the time.

Okay so perhaps I'm wrong. If anyone wants to fix it, be my guest. :)

As it is, no, probably not worth it. At least not with your present goal in mind. Maybe for documentation of a very specific thing, but your wide-reaching goal of documenting the advanced topics of everything needs to be canned, as it's pretty much doomed from the get-go.
