Terragen keeps crashing... Could it be Vista?

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/Terragen keeps crashing... Could it be Vista?

I'm currently running Terragen under Vista Ultimate, and I am designing a detailed sunset landscape for a background for a game I'm going to do in BlitzMax. However, needless to say, when I render my image to get ready to save as a bitmap (which would later be converted to a PNG in Corel PSP XI), it seems to crash even before it reaches 10% of the rendition. Makes me wonder if this has something to do with the operating system that it's working in. You would think that Planetside would have made this program ready for Vista by now.

This might not be related, but I'll post it anyway.

Could be a memory leak. Before you start rendering, open the Task Manager and watch the task.

I had a memory leak problem playing City of Heroes with my ATI X850XT AGP card on Vista Ultimate. It was related to fast writes option being turned on, and there was no way to turn it off in vista.

I solved the problem buying a new gfx card.

Well, this is on a notebook, so I'm sort of dead-ended when it comes to graphics card upgrades, and the one for the time I configured this was the best that Dell had at the time. It's an ATI X300 128 MB Mobility Radeon, so you know how that can be. I'm most certainly looking at building and going back to desktops before too long.

Anyone tried the Terragen 2 technology preview (demo version)?

Yeah its been out ages.
