Domain questions+Does Vista support Blitz?

OK ive got 2 questions crammed into 1 topic:
1) Is there anywhere that I can get a permanent .com, .net, or and kind of .(2 or three letters) with out ads? (well .com would be OK with ads)
2) Does Blitz3D games work on Vista? I have heard a LOT of controversy over this and I want to get it straightened out.

2) Yes Blitz3D games work in Vista. Provided you programmed it properly.

1) Find a good hosting company and pay for it.
2) I tried some of my old games and they worked fine.

...one problem you might come across is when you are saving data/config files to your program folder. Vista simply does not like you doing this, and redirects write attempts to a VirtualStore folder. This is purely for backwards compatibility and you shouldn't rely on it when you're writing new games.

The correct way is to create a folder in LOCAL_APPDATA (see MSDN documentation for SHGetSpecialFolderLocation), and store your config files there.

Pretty much any domain registrar from between $0-20 a year.

Dont forget, hosting and domain reg are two separate things. Usually with 2 separate companies involved, the hosters and the registrars.
Some good (and usually more expensive) hosting companies include domain aquire and admin for you, included in the hosting cost.
However usually you need to set both up yourself and setup the registered domain to point at the hoster's DNS servers.
