Site security heads-up

Well, I completely missed the link to this at the top of the forums page. Thought I'd post it here incase others have missed it, too.

I think a post in General Discussion or site wide would have been best instead of that little link at the top of the forums.

I would think that someone trying to gather passwords with a hack is quite important and deserves a thread of its own.

We have one now though so cool. :)

Yeah I missed it too. I heard something the other day about accounts being at risk, but didn't spot that page until this morning :S

They should send out an email informing people to change passwords if there is such risk. And of course, I'm talking about an email with no links or attachments :)

Who will they send them to? Most of us don't have our e-mail addresses on here.

Is IE7 any safer? Or does Microsoft just make things look different, and release things over and over again in order to keep the facade of progress?

The only difference I've noticed in IE7 is that things aren't where I want them to be.

It works the same way as their operating systems. Exactly what you said - Releasing the same thing over and over just with a different look.

Storing the passwords in plain text is a horrible practice that I thought went away with the 90's.
